Welcome to the Platform For Exposure Assessment!

The purpose of this platform is to aggregate databases, modelling tools and information related to the field of exposure assessment. Content of the platform is divided to the following 7 elements:

Exposure Information database includes exposure related information for 141 chemicals listed by European Chemicals Bureau (ECB) in Priority Chemical Lists of Existing Chemicals. The data in ExpoDb is extracted from available draft or final versions of ECB’s risk assessment reports.
ExpoScenario provides templates for tables that can be used in scoping and defining exposure scenarios for various environmental health assessments. A downloadable causal diagram template is also available.
Intake Fraction (iF) database gathers data from published intake fraction studies and provides a simple way to search through these studies and their results.
Source Attribution Database gathers data from published source attribution (or apportionment) studies and provides a simple way to search through these studies and their results.
Concentration Database (ConcDb) gathers data from published exposure concentration studies and provides a simple way to search through the results of the studies.
Exposure Modeling Tool provides a means to calculate four exposure-related outcomes (concentration, exposure, intake, and intake fraction).
External Databases and Other Sources contain links with short descriptions to available internet sources related to the field of exposure assessment. These external sources are divided to three categories which are databases, tools and guidance documents.

Aim of this platform is to provide information and tools, which give support to each other and can be utilized for the same purposes. All content included or linked to the platform is freely accessible.

Contributors

The platform is created and further developed by participants in several projects related to the field of exposure and health impact assessment. Further information for these projects can be found from their web pages.

Update History

September 6 2010
External sources have been moved to the Opasnet! This allows easier maintenance and updating in Media Wiki environment. Now everyone (with Opasnet account) can update and add external sources. Despite all this the usability has remained almost unchanged, thanks to special wiki page which implements browsing capabilites similar to past version.
January 11 2010
Lots of fixes and improvements. Search functionality for every database is now updated and different. Search will now be performed by searching from all relevant database fields and is therefore more useful. You can use several keywords (separated with space) to make your search more detailed.
March 10 2009
Several improvements and bugfixes throughout the platform.
January 4 2009
New database addedd to the platform. Concentration database (ConcDb) provides exposure concentrations for several chemicals in various microenvironments and exposure media, including personal exposures. Data is gathered from published study results covering several European and other countries.
August 8 2008
Some non-working URL:s in External sources updated with the working ones. iFDb and SADb heavily updated (over 50 new references added).
April 7 2008
Data from publication of Nazaroff (2008) was added to intake fraction database.
