Council of Principal Investigators (CPI)
The Council was composed of the designated Principal Investigators of each
Collaborating Centre. The Council was the highest policy and decision making
body of the MONICA Project. The Council had the following functions:
- reviewing, deciding and planning the execution of the Project
- monitoring and evaluating progress
- exchanging experience and information
- reviewing the recommendations of the Steering Committee
- charging the Steering Committee with specific assignments, when necessary
- electing Principal Investigators as new members to the Steering Committee
- agreeing timetables.
