MONICA Quality Control Centres (MQC)
An important element of the overall operation of the MONICA Project was a set
of strategies for measuring and improving data quality. An extensive system was
created for this purpose, which included the activities of four MQCs:
- MONICA Quality Control Centre for Lipid Measurements -
Laboratory for Atherosclerosis Research, Institute for Clinical and
Experimental Medicine (IKEM), Prague, Czech Republic
- MONICA Quality Control Centre for ECG Coding - Hungarian
Institute of Cardiology, Budapest, Hungary
- MONICA Quality Control Centre for Event Registration -
University of Dundee, Scotland
- MONICA Quality Control Centre for Health Services -
University of Western Australia, Australia.
The key personnel of the MQCs are given in
the List of
Sites and Key Personnel, and there is a more comprehensive description on
pages 15-18 of
the MONICA Monograph and Multimedia
Sourcebook.
