The main event of the Finnish EU presidency in the health sector was a high level conference on Health in All Policies (HIAP). The conference took place in Kuopio, 20–21. September, 2006.
A book on Health in All Policies was published to serve as background material.
National Public Health Institutes are important actors in monitoring and promoting health in many EU countries. The National Public Health Institute of Finland, KTL, organizes the first meeting of the Directors of European National Public Health Institutes, which will take place in Helsinki 23–24. November 2006.
