In the area of public health and chronic
disease prevention KTL's main research areas are cardiovascular
diseases, diabetes, health behaviour, nutrition and health

: A large survey on risk factors of chronic diseases carried out

Diabetes
DIPP - The Diabetes Prediction and Prevention Study, The Dipp
Nutrition Study : This study investigates whether there is a link
between the diet in prenatal age and during the first five years of
infancy with the development of diabetes in children who are
genetically at risk.
TRIGR - Trial to Reduce IDDM in the Genetically at Risk : This
study is designed to determine whether the risk of developing type
1 diabetes can be reduced by elimination of cow milk protein in the
diet of infants during the first 6 to 8 months of life in babies
who are genetically at risk of type 1 diabetes.
