The laboratory supports basic and epidemiological research by carrying out laboratory determinations and by participating in the planning phase of projects. Our laboratory can provide the following analyses for:
Cardiovascular disease research (lipid and lipoprotein analytics), diabetes research (C peptide, insulin, glucose and albumin analytics), dietary and nutrition research (electrolyte and blood iron status analytics) as well as research on public health and functional capacity (e.g., Health 2000 and FinRisk).
Together with the IT-unit, we are developing a centralised sample management system for the entire institute. The objective is to improve the institute’s ability to fully utilise the information in its samples.
