Chronic Disease Epidemiology Unit

The mission of the unit is to carry out research, monitoring and prevention of the main non-communicable diseases. The research concerns the aetiology and risk factors of major non-communicable diseases (especially cardiovascular diseases) and the possibilities to change the risk factor levels in the population.

International collaboration is extensive with World Health Organization, European Union and bilaterally. The unit participates in many international projects.
