Pilvikki Absetz (PhD, health psychology), Senior researcher
My special area of interest is the application
of behavioural science theories and models in interventions to
promote health or prevent diseases. My doctoral thesis in health
psychology examined the determinants and effects of risk
perceptions for breast cancer in the course of screening. I am a
Principal Investigator of the GOAL Lifestyle Implementation Trial,
the GOAL Intervention to Promote Functional Capacity, and the
DefenceNutri Intervention to Promote Healthy Eating among Finnish
conscripts. In addition to research, I train health professionals
in disease prevention and health promotion, and function in
different expert bodies and committees working in the area of
health promotion.
