Specifications of the data or material transferred

A The MPC sends MONICA survey data, additional survey data and the follow-up data to the MDC.
B The MDC selects cases and a subcohort and sends a request for DNA material to the MPC.
C The MPC send the DNA material and accompanying data to the DNA extraction laboratory in KTL.
D The DNA extraction laboratory sends excess DNA back to the MPC.
E The DNA are stored temporarily in KTL. No Key 1 (see below) information follows the data to the storage.
F The DNA laboratory sends to the MDC inventory and other data about the samples received from the MPCs and the stored DNA. This also includes relevant quality control data.
G The MDC sends requests for transferring DNA from the storage to the genotyping laboratories.
H The DNA storage provides up to date inventory data to the MDC.
I DNA data are distributed from the storage to the genetic laboratories.
J The genetic laboratories transfer the genetic data and relevant quality control data to the MDC.
K The MDC sends each MPC the genetic data for their samples.
L MDC prepares analysis data sets for the manuscript groups in accordance with the MORGAM publication and data release policy.
X The data transfer of data or material is followed by bilateral acknowledgement, inventory and problem communication.
Key 1 MPC, RU, Cohort, Serial number. This data identification is used in all communication between the MDC and the MPCs, and between the MPC and the DNA extraction laboratory, but not in the DNA storage or in the genotyping laboratories.
Key 2 Serial Number generated by MDC, which does not include any of the components of Key 1. This data identification code is generated in the MDC and its relation with Key 1 is kept in the MDC. The labels used for transferring the samples from the MPCs to the DNA extraction laboratory include both codes.
