Administration

Co-operating institutions

The Helsinki Psychotherapy Study is a project carried out in co-operation between the Social Insurance Institution, the Biomedicum Helsinki, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, the National Public Health Institute, and the Rehabilitation Foundation. The study is mainly financed by the Social Insurance Institution, which is also responsible for executive management of the project. Social Insurance Institution resources have been allocated to computing, health economics, and psychological research. The study personnel are administratively part of the Biomedicum Helsinki Foundation, which is responsible for co-ordination of the study premises together with the Rehabilitation Foundation. The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa is in charge of the clinical administration of study patients. Researchers from the National Public Health Institute's department of Health and Functional Capacity have been recruited for specialist assignments and consulted about issues related to epidemiology, statistical analysis, and statistical computing. The Rehabilitation Foundation has supported the study in its planning phase and has a major role in the research concerning work ability and social functioning. Some departments from various Finnish universities and independent researchers have also been involved in the study. A total of about 150 persons have had some professional role in the study; 71 of them were psychotherapists responsible for conducting the study treatments.
