Helsinki Psychotherapy Study

The Helsinki Psychotherapy Study is financed by the Social Insurance Institution and carried out in co-operation with the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, the Biomedicum Helsinki, the Rehabilitation Foundation, and the National Public Health Institute.

The aim of the study is the evaluation of the effectiveness of psychotherapies used in the treatment of depression and anxiety patients.

Psychiatric disorders cause subjective suffering, working disability, need for treatment and costs. Different forms of psychotherapy are widely applied in the treatment of psychiatric disorders but little comparative information is available on their effectiveness in different groups of disorder.
